Marketing Co-Chair - Website & Digital Content Curator
Board Role for HBS Alumni Angels of NY Member
Membership Required
The Marketing Co-Chair is responsible for the content development and website design of the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of Greater New York (HBSAANY), with a special emphasis on our reputation within the entrepreneurial community and generating deal flow.
Experience with the macro and micro branding ecosystems of HBS, Angel Investing and NYC is a plus.
Specifics include:

Develop clear visual flow and messaging on our website to differentiate HBSAANY and to increase deal flow quantity and quality to our community, as well as industry partners and our angel investor members. ​

Oversight of selected external digital marketing, with support by Program Manager.

Website Management – Wix

Develop content for website, to be shared across marketing channels (in conjunction with Portfolio Relations Chair for portfolio news, and External Relations for marketing to VCs/deal sources, and Marketing Co-Chair, Social Media to publish across channels)

Participate in monthly HBSAANY Board meetings and related initiatives; oversee marketing budget; Coordination with HBSCNY Marketing, as needed.

The time commitment for this position is expected to be approximately 10-15 hours per month.

Alumni Angels of Greater New York Marketing Internship Description
Organization Overview:
The Harvard Business School Club of New York (the “Club”) is a unique and powerful association connecting the leadership and management expertise of Harvard Business School (HBS) alumni with the vital, creative, and dynamic community of Greater New York City. The mission of the Club is to Make a Difference and to Support Harvard Business School by Engaging Alumni, Impacting Community, Fostering Leadership and Lifelong Learning.

The Club is a nonprofit organization that is governed by a Board of Directors composed of HBS alumni. The various activities of the Club serve 10,000 HBS alumni in the New York City region with the support of alumni volunteers in sectors ranging from programming to pro bono consulting to angel investing.
HBS Alumni Angels of Greater New York (HBSAANY) is the largest angel group in NY with 350+ angel investors and growing. It is the largest of 19 chapters of the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels Association. Our members have invested $28 million across 130+ exciting early-stage companies. HBSAANY receives 30+ applications by entrepreneurs per month for possible inclusion in a monthly “pitch night” event. On average, HBSAANY receives 30+ applications per month, and accepts 5 companies to pitch. We invest in 1-2 companies per month a few weeks after our members complete their assessment.
Job Description
The Alumni Angels Marketing Intern will support the angel investing program within the entrepreneurship division of the Club, reporting to the staff Program Manager, Entrepreneurship. This is primarily a remote position with occasional in-person events and meetings.

This position will be an opportunity for a current student to strengthen their planning, marketing, administration, and social media skills and to work in a professional environment that intersects with business, entrepreneurs, and social enterprise sectors. This internship requires someone who can work in-person evenings on occasion.

This internship can qualify for course credit.

Tasks & Roles
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assist with in-person Pitch Nights, held on the first Monday of each month, including pre-event prep and onsite production (e.g., creating calendar invitations, nametags, drafting digital flyers, recording attendance, registering guests, zoom administration)

Draft posts & engage NYC-based entrepreneur/investor community on social media accounts: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Wix Website

Conduct online research on request (e.g., HBSAANY-Invested Portfolio Companies, news about current HBSAANY Investor/Members, upcoming events at other HBS Angels Association global chapters)
Skills Required

Self-starter with great organizational skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Efficient and detail oriented

Experience using social media to build brand awareness from inception of a project, organization or startup

Proficient in MS Office (e.g., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Google Office Suite familiarity with web and graphic design platforms: Wix, Canva

Comfortable with social media design tools and scheduling platforms such as Hootsuite, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and other programs
Education
Sophomore or Junior in Finance, Marketing, Business, Digital Communications, or the equivalent. Keen interest in Entrepreneurship and the NYC startup ecosystem is a plus.
Experience
Demonstrated effectiveness at administrative and creative support, graphic design, digital marketing, working with committees and managing weekly tasks. References and visual examples of prior work will be checked.
Time and Compensation:

This is a 10 hours per week, non-exempt paid internship working during business hours Monday through Friday with monthly in-person attendance at Pitch Night events.

Compensation is $20 per hour

Flexibility in work hours is available

Commences in Fall Semester (ideally mid-October) to last for 10 weeks. Potential opportunity to extend through Spring semester.
